We recently moved to this area, we love Sushi and Sashimi, after reading few of the reviews from yelp and nice special coupon offer from yelp, we got to try their Sashimi and Bento box for lunch. The restaurant is very spacious, clean and nicely decorated. If you like sushi, sashimi or sushi roll, you should definitely visit this restaurant. I had Sashimi platter. This lunch order comes with salad or soup. I had salad, it is lettuce with nice sauce. if you enjoy raw fish, you should try this platter. The platter included very generous size of 10 pieces of sashimi with a bowl of rice. I would say the dish is simple but elegant, this is a 'low fat, guilt free' treat for summer. I love it. A minor note: for some reason the white radish served with the Sashimi was not too fresh. My husband had Bento box with miso soup, you can pick an appetizer, main entrée and a sushi roll. My husband had Fried Oyster for appetizer, Teriyaki beef and Salmon roll. The bento box also came with a bowl of white rice. Quality was very good, the nice thing was the Teriyaki beef served on top of a bed of stir-fried mix vegetables, a very balanced, and well presented bento lunch box. A minor note: Fried Oyster is a bit over done, and sauce on top of the Teriyaki beef was a bit thin. This is why we give 4-star rating. We are pretty sure you will gradually felt in love with Japanese food if you try different Bento boxes. We tried Bento Box at "Soho Japanese Bistro" (a restaurant close by). There is no comparison, Geisha's Bento box is so much better than Soho's.

Sushi was amazing. Service not so much. My buddy waited forever for some fried rice to the point that we nearly left it. I had the house specialty the "Steve roll" which was spicy and sweet at the same time. It was lightly fried and delicious. Overall the place was clean and food was great. The hibachi wasn't going and we were one of the first ones here. Maybe we caught them still trying to open? Service may be related to that and better in the dinner hour.

I can't in good conscience give there's guys a great review. I have been here a few times over the years, and oftentimes when I decide I won't come back I get a $20 coupon in the mail and I let my wallet trump my taste buds. Overall the food is just ok. What further makes this a 3 star rating is the service and the general unhappiness of the wait and cook staff we have encountered. I get the feeling the owner is hard on the staff and also have seen what I believe to be the owner treating guests with coupons with general disapproval...so my question is: for a business that continues pumping out coupons like crazy, why treat these discount happy customers with sourness? Kind of defeats the purpose of driving new customers into your business.

Good quick fast service and very tasty food. We went to celebrate two birthday's, there was six of us the food was good and the quantity was just right. All the appetizers were good veggie spring rolls, shrimp egg rolls, fried oysters & the sushi. All of us ordered the Hibachi meals they were cooked to perfection. The Geisha house is a good spot for causal dining & celebrations.

Went to dinner with 4 people. Service was alright, took a while to order. Food came out really quick. Out of 4 entrees, we only enjoyed the teriyaki dish. Calamari was excellent. Probably wouldn't come back.

Great sushi, awesome food and chefs! Very friendly host! This is a great place to come and enjoy your whole experience. And they have a 15 for 30 deal on yelp and Amazon local! You can't beat this! Thanks Geisha for an awesome time everytime.

My family and I enjoyed a lunch after church on Sunday. I was disappointed that they did not offer a lunch menu on Sunday. We ordered from the dinner menu which was really too much food for a lunch. That being said The food was very good. I especially enjoyed the fried rice. There are several other hibachi style restaurants in the area and I believe Giesha has the best fried rice. The service was good and my hibachi steak was tasty although a bit overcooked. The restaurant including the restroom was clean. The staff was very friendly and service was spot on.

Nothing special except for the high price, very poor service, and mediocre food. Twice visited. Both visits waited a hour to get in, 30 minutes for a waitress to come by, at least 20 minutes to get our drink another 10 for appetizer. Food delivery was acceptable.

Very good food! The staff were friendly and nice too. We went out for my birthday. While the chef was doing the tricks with the food, he was tossing the egg up and down, something went wrong and the egg flew and splattered on my mom! Ha but it was all good. They have her meal free. Good thing she wore shorts and so it was easily wiped off. I wonder if they practice before working with customers? They also attended to my mom's seafood allergy and cooked the seafood separately from the rest of the food.

Geisha Sushi & Steakhouse offers a huge variety of sushi as well as Hibachi. We came here based on the fact that they offered a Yelp deal. $15 for $30. Upon entering this place is more upscale than I imagined. We came for lunch and the outside looks chain-y, but once inside, it's actually kind of beautiful. Agree with the other reviews in the fact that they are not welcoming. We came at lunch when no one else was here and it was almost like we were bothering them. To start we had a Philly roll and you could tell it was expertly prepared. The roll was tight, and the flavor was fresh and on point. We then ordered the Filet Hibachi to split. I would say the Hibachi was above average. The rice was really fresh and not overly done. The steak was cooked perfectly (I hate places that kill the steak even when you ask for it med. rare). Juicy and succulent, the only thing I think it needed was a little salt. The veggies were a bit overdone, but nothing horrible. Our hibachi chef was quiet but did still did a great job. Then comes the sketchy part. The service was almost non-existent. We ordered and then we saw our server one time after. I had an empty water glass from 5 minutes after we sat down to through the end of the meal. I also asked for some salt and I waited a good amount of time until my food was getting cold, I decided to eat anyway and then at the end of the meal with our bill the salt showed up. I also wasn't sure if our server didn't speak english or if he was just having a bad day and didn't want to deal with us. Then the checks came. We had two groups myself and my bf and another couple. We had both purchased the Yelp deal. When we went to pay, we let the server know we purchased the deal gave him the code, and then he came back saying it said, "One per table only." When we told him the deal said "on per person" he replied by saying, "There's a lot that goes into it." Dumbfounded we responded, "Okay so can we use the deal?" Then he responded again, "There's a lot that goes into it in the fine print." My response, respectfully, was, "I realize that and it is totally okay if we can't use it. I just wanted to make sure you were aware that it says right here (shows phone) one deal per person in the fine print." He responds, "Ok. Let me show this to the hostess, and IDK argue or something." We all look at each other like what just happened??? He comes back after about 20 minutes and very quietly just gives us our bills. He doesn't communicate to us what happened. Just gave us the bill with the deal included in it. So I'm assuming they just didn't want to have any trouble, which was appreciated, but at the end of the day - the service overall was a one star experience. One of my favorite chef's always says, "You can have the best food in the world, but if the service isn't there, no one will want to eat at your restaurant." And no truer words have ever been said. I wouldn't have known this place existed or came here if it wasn't for the Yelp deal. I thought the food was a little above average, but not worth feeling like we were bothering them. Based on that, I probably won't return to spend my money here.

The cook kept my three year old daughter entertained. My wife and I left very full. The steak that I ordered was juicy and very tasty. It was an great experience. I was surprised/saddened that the restaurant was only half full.

Ended up at this place after a Yelp event. We saw that they had a yelp deal as well and wanted to check it out. I love hibachi and my husband doesn't so every opportunity to eat hibachi is golden for me. The food was ok, nothing spectacular. My hibachi chicken was a little bit under cooked. Portions are pretty small from what I am used to. Our water glasses were empty more than they were full. The Yelp deal was $30 deal for $15 and it clearly stated that it was per person. We all read it beforehand just to make sure so we purchased it but when the paying time came up we were told that it is per party and since we all came in as a group they can only take on deal. We complained and even showed him the fine print that clearly says 'per person'. He took the checks and the phone back and didn't come back to us for what seemed to be almost 10 minutes. I wonder if they were arguing in the back. But, at the end of the day they did take our deal and that's probably going to be my last time there. The place is a little out of the way for us anyways.

After this experience I think I need a shower and a psychiatrist because I feel so horrible. To start our waitress was so rude to not only us but the table behind us that my wife felt uncomfortable and didn't want to eat. We ordered sushi and hibachi chicken. The sushi came out on hot rice right out of a cooker. The squid was cut so thinly it made tissue paper look like plywood. To show you how thin it was the heat actually made the ends curl up because it was cooling the squid. The salmon roe was all rice with only a sprinkling of roe on top also served atop steaming hot rice. The California roll was actually not to bad, but it was the only thing that was not hot. The salad was ample and probably the best part of this experience. Now for the bad part. We ordered hibachi chicken, I specifically asked for it because they said they could make it even if we weren't at a hibachi table. When the dish came it was the smallest portion I have ever seen at a hibachi. My wife and I ordered one meal because usually that is enough to split but were were mistaken. Brushing it off because we were using a Yelp coupon we started picking at it when there was the unmistakably awful taste of teriyaki. When I asked about this mistake the woman told me It is hibachi and that the order was correct. I then asked why it was lathered in teriyaki sauce and she said that how they make hibachi I said well then what is your teriyaki chicken and she got angry and proceeded to argue with me until i finally paid for my meal. When I asked about the warm sushi she told me they make great sushi and I am the problem. So I will never come back and I hope that soon this place disappears so no one else ever has to be treated this poorly ever again.

After a long hiatus from hibachi I went for a friend's birthday. Our server was not so fun as he seemed like he simply wanted to just cook the food and get out. That said, the food was excellent and seemed to just keep coming. Although our server was rather boring, I noticed others squirting sake into customers mouths which was pretty unique. Good hibachi but it's a toss up on your server

With the 15 for 30 dollar deal this place was a hit! The food was great, the chef was fun and the restaurant itself was very nice (unlike SAKE). The only complaint I have is the waitress was rude but the 15 for 30 deal made it 5 stars! **Tip- use as much of that 30 dollars you receive through the 15 for 30 because you don't get the money you didn't spend back lol.

Didn't try a food. Review is based only on attitude of personal. We came 10 minutes before closing, were told that we would be able only to order to-go, but when we started to discuss it between us, she slammed a menu in front of us saying "Come another day."

  • Denise F.

I ordered 2 appetizers the shumai and the chicken lettuce wraps. I like that they gave the perfect amounts of lettuce for the chicken. The flavor would be enhanced if the added a peanut sauce or a ginger sesame taste. The shumai was small, but that was expected for the price. The lunch chicken teriyaki was a little bland and dry, but it smells delicious. I also trial their Angel roll which was well made. The roll remained intact through soy sauce dippings, the rice was cooked right, the fish was fresh. It might have imitation crab opposed to real crab. Overall, my favorite dish was the Angel roll.

Great food and staff. The portion sizes were a bit smaller than other hibachi restaurants I've been to-which is a lot. The chef was cool and pretty funny. He did a few tricks that I hadn't seen before. It's a great place for families or just dinner with your bf/gf

  • Shon M.

Wow definitely gone down hill. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants, with their new menu came higher prices, smaller portions and less of a "show" at the hibachi tables. Very disappointed Geisha! !

Pretty fun dinner by the hibachi table. Enjoyed the flames, knife throws and little games with catching food in mouth. The food was Ok and the chef and our waitress were nice, however the hostess at the entrance was extremely unpleasant. Had a good time and used a Groupon. The food would not have been worth the full price.

I took my daughter on our regular daddy/daughter date night and we had fun! We enjoyed the food, but don't expect the best cut of steak you've ever had. The shrimp was very good though. I've had more 'animated' hibachi chefs, but he was enjoyable, just the same. We'd go back as we did enjoy ourselves. My only complaint was the burnt smell of the hibachi's when they fire them up. I've not encountered that at other Japanese style steak houses.

  • Anjelica N.

There are better eats than this place. Lunch is pretty affordable but the food is pretty salty. It's always fun to see the chef throw the spatula and what not around but my meat ended up being sorta dry and the sauce that's in the fried rice seemed more bitter than you'd expect or desire. The prices for dinner are pretty ridiculous so avoid this place.

  • Chelle M.

If you can go here for lunch, you can get a big ole meal in the bento box for $11. It includes your choice of soup or salad, steamed rice, a sushi roll, stir fry veggies and some salmon, chicken, shrimp or tofu. The best part... Besides the tasty food and generous portions, of course... The service is fast, which is of essence when dining out for lunch on a workday.

This is a beautiful restaurant and I was excited to find hibachi style Japanese cuisine near us. A nice feature of this place is that you get to choose to sit at the grills or at a private table if you prefer. The place was clean and stylish and all.of.that set me up for disappointment with the food. I should say right now that my favorite food other than good olé American dishes is Japanese. So maybe I have too much to compare Geishas food to. But even so, the food was just underwheming. The dressing on the salad was lacking flavor as were the spring rolls, shrimp appetizer and the main entree. All.were cooked.just.fine but there is just know way one should be compelled to.add.seasoning at a japanese restaurant. But that is exactly what we felt. Both my wife and I got the shrimp and chicken. We left feeling full but unfulfilled. The Chef was less than passionate and it showed in his food. The great thing about Japanese hibachi food is the fun of the chef followed up by fabulous food cooked right before your eyes. It's the whole experience that makes it so unique. This restaurant seems to.have two choices in my view. Either up your game just a bit and become premier or keep it as it is and survive in mediocrity. The latter would be such a waste when you have a legitimately great start.

They will accommodate you and your date if you don't want to have someone flipping stuff in your face on a Friday evening. The service is great and the sushi is pretty good, especially considering we're in Ohio. I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys decent sushi.

My wife and I love this place. The rolls are amazing! Originally the service was awful. You'd wait awhile before getting to even place your drink order and they'd rarely check on you after. They've gotten a lot better. We've made this our regular weekend restaurant. They always have coupons. Make sure you find a $10 off $40 or more or one of the social deals $15 for $30.

Stopped for lunch about 30 minutes before they closed for the afternoon. Took awhile to get acknowledged and there was a peculiar odor although the place seemed cleaned. (The restroom was spotless!) We did table service, not the hibachi. Decent amount of food for the $11 Bento Box and the food was good. I've had better but certainly not bad. The waitress dropped off the check and it was nearly 10 minutes before we saw her again to pick it up. As we walked out, there was one table left but they were turning the lights out!

We've switched from going to Benihana to Geisha for a few years now. The food is tasty and it's much more spacious. Their hibachi tables are nicely spaced apart so you're not packed in like sardines even if it's a busy night. The prices are more reasonable as well. We've been several times now and every time the food has been spot-on and it has been a great experience.

    (4)
  • Jason M.

I thought the service was good, and the food was ok. The only reason why it's not 4 stars or higher is that the price doesn't justify the quality. Steak hibachi dinner is $18 and chicken is $14. We sat at the table with one other couple and they barely have us any rice. The meat portion sizes were good, but the taste just wasn't there. Standard yum yum, and ginger sauces, with a ginger salad or wonton soup as a starter. We didn't try the sushi so I can't comment on that. The hibachi entertainment was a little dry as well. But compared to other hibachi places that we have been to, I would consider it par. They have Pepsi at this location, and not Coke. I would probably eat here again.

Gave us the bill. Took credit card back. Charged the card for double. Then argued with us. A group of 4 of us went for dinner, with 2 of us having a Living Social deal. We asked the server how the deal works to make sure we did things right. Server said you can't use it for half price sushi, to which we asked if it was OK for half the table to use it, and the other half of the table to get the half priced sushi. Server said yes. Later, server came by to say that one of the tuna rolls we ordered was no longer half price. The person ordered another roll. Still later, the server came back and said we can't get the half price deal because we're at the same table, and would we like to cancel the order. I said OK, we'll sit at another table. My friend said he'll just cancel his order and go somewhere else. The server then said it's OK, he'll put in the order as is and if there's an issue he'll take the blame. We got our food (and they had conveniently forgotten the salad, rice, and shrimp tempura that came with the meal that the Living Social half of the table ordered). Afterwards, the bill came. We checked the non-Living Social half of the check, and it was correct: sushi was half price. My friend put his credit card down on the bill, and they took it back. When we went back to sign the bill, he noticed they had charged his card for double the price of the sushi. We flagged down the owner, and the owner said you need to pay full price because of the terms of the Living Social deal. She even brought the paper out to show me. I told her your staff told us it was OK, and we would've ordered something else if we had known. She said "I don't care. You pay full price." Terrible service, with an owner that will charge your card double what the original bill said. DO NOT GO HERE.

  • Morris T.

Worst Restaurant Experience Ever! In retrospect, when your waiter tells you that something is ok, but also says in the same breath that "if there is a problem that I'll take the blame for it", you're better off leaving. Turns out the waiter under-estimated the ferocity and the penny-pinchingness of the owner. It's a long story and involves a LivingSocial, but it ended with the owner yelling at the waiter, owner charging my credit card a different amount than the what our check indicated, owner pretending nothing happened, and finally owner yelling at us. No matter what kind of deal this place is offering. Stay away. It is more hassle than what it's worth.

  • Drew K.

Hibachi at Geisha is amazing!!! Their fried rice is the best I've ever had! Get extra fried rice for only $2! Sit on the end for bigger portions ;) the coupon on groupon or yelp is the best deal! Sometimes their seating process is complicated but the good makes up for it.

I went for dinner on a Friday night and had a good time with my fiancé. We were the only ones seated at the hibachi grill. The gentleman working the grill entertained a little but not as much as you would find elsewhere such as Kabuto or Benihana. It was very quiet and intimate and the service I received was great. I would say this is an average hibachi location and if you need a local spot this is not a bad one.

  • Derek D.

Everything was bad. Made our first (and certainly last) visit to this restaurant with a LivingSocial deal. Two others in our party wished to order the half price sushi, which were originally told was ok, only to later be told wasn't allowed at the same table as a LivingSocial coupon. We offered to move to separate tables, at which time the server relented and said he would make an exception. He returned later to say that one of the rolls we ordered from the half price menu was no longer half price. What would a good restaurant do? Honor their menu. What did Geisha do? Make us pick a different roll. Once the food arrived, the two of us using the LivingSocial deal didn't even receive all of our food. The chicken teriyaki that comes with soup, salad and rice came with NONE of those. My partner's shrimp udon soup came without shrimp. It seemed way too coincidental that we were missing so much. The chicken teriyaki was mediocre at best, and the chicken tasted old. Once the checks came, the half price shrimp portion of our table were handed a check indicating the correct amount, but after handing over their credit card, found that they were charged full price! They were lied to about the half price sushi being ok. What would a good restaurant do? Honor what they told us. What did Geisha do? Pull a bait and switch once they had the credit card. Stay far, far away from this place. The staff even seemed depressed and bullied by the management. It was kind of sad.

Food and service was great. However we were penalized for using the Yelp deal by having to choose a soup or salad instead of both, and order was wrong, twice had to tell the server and then we got charged for the mistake. Said double rice which at our regular place means in lieu of veggies. So if you buy a yelp or groupon don't tell them before your bill comes.

My wife order the noodles tonight and they smelled sour. She was unable to eat them. When she spoke to the manager and informed her that she no longer wanted them and would like to place another order, the manager was not very professional and customer service oriented. The manager kept say but you ordered them and do want me to get you a box. It wasn't until my wife said no I don't want them and I'm not paying for them either, the manager got the point. We'll never eat here again. Terrible service.

  • Rachel L.

This is the first time we have come here. The food itself I would give five stars. We had soup, sushi, and fried rice, all of which were delicious. The chicken fried rice was the best I've ever had. It wasn't too dry and had lots of flavor. All of the sushi we tried was big and flavorful with nice flavor combinations. I am only giving four stars because the service was extremely slow. It was busy and it was a Saturday but we waited for 10-15 minutes just to have someone tell us how long our wait would be, then another 20 minute wait (which wouldn't have been outrageous other than for the fact that there were multiple booths open.) Our server was very polite and informed us that they were down a cook. Out food did take awhile but I guess I should just assume they were understaffed all over. Overall we liked it and will probably go again, just not on a Saturday night.

  • Martin H.

Yelp's $10 for $20 coupon brought me to the place. The place was pretty chic, and service was not bad. However, the food was a huge disappointment I took the server's suggestion of the Amazing tuna roll, and the yakisoba fried noodles which was also her recommendation. I liked the idea that the tuna was cooked one side, and the other raw. But, it didn't work out for me, it just tasted bland and the wasabi looked as if it had been sitting in the sun for days. The yakisoba too, was bland and quite greasy... Perphaps I am being too harsh, preferring authentic Asian food to "Americanized" versions. However, even if it was the latter, it did not have good flavor or texture at all. It's not cheap either, a steak teriyaki entree costs $17, and I ended up spending $30 total for the two dishes. All in all, quality and the taste, the dishes were extremely overpriced.

  • Chris G.

This is a typical Asian restaurant where they may be trying one too many things. They have restaurant seating and hibachi seating. Their sushi is just okay. I am more of a purist when it comes to sushi, so I am not fond of the funky American creations they have as a majority of their rolls. The other Japanese items on the menu are also good, but not great. The hibachi is a little expensive, so lunch is the better option for that. Again, it is okay and our boys enjoy it, but I am into more traditional Japanese foods and tend to prefer it when prepared by Japanese or at least someone trained really well in the proper culinary techniques used in Japanese cooking. Keep your eyes open for Groupon deals; this place seems to be on Groupon every few weeks.

Geisha was fun and very accomodating for our large group. Plenty of food at the hibachi table and was reasonably priced.

  • Bryn N.

Unfortunately the management of this place is very rude. We enjoyed the food and entertainment, but both couples in our group had a groupon, for which the only restriction was Limit 1 per person, Limit 1 per visit. The manager tried to tell us that we could only use one per table even though our checks were separate and there was no such restriction in the fine print. She did end up taking them, but not before shoving it back in my face and yelling at me. It's too bad, you would think they would take the feedback without making you feel like never coming back.

Third time we've been here, the food is typically slightly above average - but the service is always poor with a combination of seemingly unhappy staff, incorrect orders, and a general lack of attentiveness.

Geisha is a hidden gem for lunch as the prices, portions and quality are very good. For $9, I got hibachi cooked salmon with spicy sauce, miso soup, stir-fried veggies and fried rice --- all which was delicious and in generous quantities. It was a much more satisfying lunch for a pittance more than offerings at say Panera or McAlister's. The atmosphere is very quiet and relaxing, allowing privacy for talking and space for relaxing unlike the aforementioned. That said, there are only two easily remedied complaints. First, the waitress acted skittish as though both scared of something and forbidden to smile. Perhaps her limited English might explain that but she did fine, was able to understand and answer questions with just a little bit of difficulty. Maybe first day jitters, but she could have been a veteran for all I know. Second, the free wi-fi was very challenging as the guest wi-fi required a password. Having needed wi-fi for business and chosen Geisha knowing it had it from Yelp, I finally flagged down the manager for the password. She said the owner who knew the password was off site so no wi-fi. This was required as employees had been using the public access. Sensing my displeasure, she returned a few minutes later with the secret word after calling the owner. However, it took many minutes to correctly enter it as it was caps sensitive with two words merged into one, but the manager didn't know that or whether to use the public or private login which I finally figured out by trial & error entering all combinations. Overall a big pain in the neck --- surely customers should be notified to ask for the password and the manager should have it written EXACTLY as it must be entered. Either that or manage employees better, like other restaurants that offer public wi-fi without a password. Those two complaints aside, I'll be returning often to Geisha for lunch as it offers lots of food value and taste in a relaxing setting.

Since my last visit to Geisha, the quality of the food and service has gone down 2 stars. Although the staff was friendly, the service was very slow and inaccurate, not just for us, but others at our table as well. The soup was basically water with a hint of onion...and I do mean a hint. It was the worst soup I've ever had. Anywhere. Ever. Not looking good.

My favorite sushi place in Cincinnati. Happy Hour prices are awesome, can't go wrong with 1.75 bottle beer. Usually get free edamame too. The staff is very nice, since I go all the time they have my drink right away. Ha. They have many delicious rolls, especially white samurai roll.

Service was horrible and rude, hostess said we need to hurry up and order. Never going there again.

The place was good in terms of food. Staff was very warm. I just felt it missed a little bit of personal touch. Giving it a 3.5.

Having been back here over a dozen times since I originally wrote my review, I wanted to add that they now run half price sushi rolls from 4:30-6:30 Monday through Thursday. We're talking monster specialty rolls for $5-6. Land and Sea rolls. Surf and Turf rolls. Tuna Amazing rolls (they have fantastic white tuna here, and I cannot believe the number of half price rolls that use it). I stuffed my face to the point I practically needed to be rolled out of the joint, and the bill for two people was $45, INCLUDING a large hot sake and an orange vodka and tonic. The value is ridiculous. I now officially don't go anywhere else for sushi during the week. You win, Geisha.

I have come back multiple times since my last review and they have definitely improved on the service. I took the family there for Hibachi dinner and the cook, Tony, made the evening for us. It was fun, engaging and entertaining. And above all the food was very tasty. The server wasn't the most attentive but he wasn't awful. He would be the only reason I am not going them 5 stars. they sashimi appetizer was fresh and delicious. $4.50 for two pieces of White Tuna is a good deal too. We got 2 steak dinners and 2 chicken and the steak was cooked perfectly. The veggies were done aldente and not too greasy like some other hibachi places. After the success of this last visit, Geisha is now our local go to for sushi and hibachi!

Terrible Service! I was there on a Sunday night with my 9 year old son when the restaurant was NOT busy. The hostess barely said a word, took us and pointed us to a seat, the server did not smile, just said the word "drink" when asking us what we wanted to drink. My son was so excited to take me out for my birthday. He told them it was my birthday and they did not even respond to him. He told the server and he told the chef. No response from either. The food was okay, but my shrimp was tough and over seasoned. The fried rice was okay. You only get a choice of a soup or a salad - most other places you get both. The salad was swimming in the dressing. I had at least a 1/4 cup of dressing in my bowl after the lettuce was gone. I asked for chop sticks for my son, the server did not say a word, but turned around, grabbed them and handed them to me - STILL without a word. I will never be back. No wonder this place has to sell so many Groupons to try to gain business! They can't retain anything with as rude as their staff is. If you want good hibachi from friendly people, go to Kanpai. I have been there and the staff is falling over themselves trying to be friendly and helpful. It is not as fancy, but wow - they are so nice.

Great first time experience. The chef was amazing and entertaining. The waitresses were a little less thrilled to be there. The food was great! very delicious, and fast. Great beer prices and the mixed drinks were well worth the money. There were a lot of families with younger kids, so if you want to have a date night I recommend going at a later time. Over all a great dinner.

The standards for Asian restaurants in Cincinnati are very low, and that's the only reason why this place can stay in business. Service is horrible and the food is sometimes ok, and sometimes very bad. This restaurant would never survive in a major city. This restaurant is kept alive by first-time or irregular patrons who want to try something different once in a while.

My husband and I both enjoy this hibachi grill over any other in the area. The service is always great and entertaining. I do however do not like their sushi. Highly recommend the hibachi experience here

Went here for Hibachi with a groupon and I was less than impressed. Service was fine, and the food was mediocre at best. We had the dinner for 2 hibachi meal with filet mignon, chicken, shrimp, and lobster where the best part was probably the steak. The chicken was a little dry, the shrimp was seasoned too much (way too peppery), and the biggest disappointment was the lobster, which was so overcooked that its texture was more like rubber than seafood. In general, there was just too much seasoning, so much that there is just no need for the sauces even. If not for the Groupon, I'd say it was a complete waste of money - overpriced mediocre food at best. With the groupon, it's just mediocre food. Scanning through the reviews, I may swing by here to try the sushi, but never the hibachi again.

Geisha was a nice experience. My first date night with my wife after having oral surgery, and I was pleased to be able to eat something out and not be miserable. I ordered the salmon and scallops hibachi combo, and my wife got the steak and shrimp hibachi combo. Our food was perfectly prepared and had wonderful, wonderful flavor. If you are thinking about an appetizer, I was delighted by the blackened Ahi tuna. The coating had wonderful spice and flavor, and the inside was tender. I haven't had seared Ahi tuna this good in quite some time. Well worth the money for a warm up bite. It is served as four pieces, plenty for two people to share. During the preparation of our dinners, we had a fantastic hibachi chef. Watch out though - they are prone to squirt sake into your mouth until you cannot take any more. I walked out with more than my share of sake consumed, and wearing a good bit down the front of my shirt. Quite fun to see who at the table can keep up with the stream out of the sake bottle. For dessert, we tried a coffee, fudge, gelato creation. Although not prepared by the restaurant (they order it from somewhere), it was a pleasant digestif to finish off the meal. We had a great time and will definitely return again!

Terrible service and mediocre food. We waited for 1 hour on a week night for the hibachi master to show up after ordering. We ordered sushi also and it took over an hour to arrive. There were only 4 tables filled. The hibachi master was just going thought the motions very mechanically. The surf and turf sushi I or dered was chewy (due to the "fillet mignon" topping). The owner also kept pushing us to buy Sapporo. Disappointing...for a restaurant claiming to be one of the top 100 restaurants in the us.

The food was good, and the atmosphere was better then expected. I ordered the Steak and the wife ordered the Shrimp. I asked for my steak to be cooked really rare, sushi style, and they actual were able to do it without any issues. The chef at the table was a little wordy and cheesy, but not to bad overall. All of the food was cooked excellently and exactly as expected, including the vegs which were cooked slightly and still had the right amount of crunch unlike many simular places. The only minus of the night was the waiter, he was very forgetful, and it took away to get the food out (i order brown rice instead of the fried rice, nice option). After several trips and reminders he brought the rice out, minutes before we were almost all done eating. I loved the fact that the hot tea was actual Green tea and not just black tea like most places. The chopsticks need a upgrade to a better set. I will go back again with my wife to check it out even more including the sushi next time.

My sister, my mom, and I came here for the first time today for a sushi lunch. They have such a great selection of unique rolls, both cooked and raw, as well as a pretty nice offering of vegetarian options. I had the Volcano roll, which was absolutely delicious and very flavorful. I also shared some vegetarian rolls with my mom, one of which was made with sun dried tomato and was adorned with kiwi -- unique combination of flavors. The decor of the restaurant was unexpectedly cool, and almost chic. Overall, we had a very good experience.

This is a great place for sushi! I like to get sashimi and it's pretty easy to tell if a restaurant has fresh, good cut fish. We ordered a boat and the presentation was just as good as the fish. The service was also great. Our server was very attentive and recommended a great drink combo. He even let us order another drink after happy hour on the happy hour price. We used a "restaurant.com" coupon, but even without the discount, the prices are still fair. It is owned by the same people that own Miyako off Buttermilk Pike in Northern Kentucky. I go to Miyako about twice a month and I Geisha definitely earned more stars!

Had a terrible experience at this restaurant with my girlfriend. After eating about a 1/3 of her hibachi chicken combo she found a substantial strand of hair embedded in her fried rice. She showed it to the waiter and he agreed how disgusting it was and said he would get the manager/owner. A few minutes later a manager came over and indicated that the owner had sent her to speak with us due to a language barrier for the owner. She informed us that usually the owner will not discount a bill but what were we looking to have done. My gf discussed having another meal cooked and a discount to the bill. Our original server said he would bring our bill over in a minute as he thought the owner was applying a discount. The bill came back full price. We indicated to our original server that there was no discount and he looked shocked. The manager came by and said bc we were being given a to go box there would be no discount. I asked for the owner to come to our table and was told that the owner would not do that. I did not feel that the two servers who were obviously as upset by the owners lack of response should be the ones to to feel the burden. I felt like the owner should be accountable for the experience we had at her restaurant. I left my seat to approached the owner who was standing at the hostess stand. she said she would not do anything more for us as recooking the meal was all she would do. What really got me was she never apologized for the poor experience we had. In fact she laughed at me more than once. She asked for a description of the hair and then replied that based on that it was "not one of my boys", referring to the chefs, and that it must be another member of the wait staff. As if I should feel better that it was not from the chef, who had longer hair. The fact is that it was not my girlfriends, and for reference was about 3 inches. I asked the owner if she would like to eat part of her meal with my hair in it and she finally removed the meal from the bill. Again no apology and laughing. Leaving the restaurant only got worse as she originally hid behind the hostess stand and when we made a comment to one another about her hiding she came flying out yelling at us. At one point saying she spoke English well. All and all I will never return as I find it unacceptable that even with a language barrier that she would not apologize and was smirking the whole time as if the situation was silly and no big deal. situations happen and its all about how you handle them. The owner dismissed our experience as no big deal. Based on comments from staff and how we were treated it is clear this owner is not customer oriented. I appreciate the two servers/ managers who were apologetic and felt terrible that they were not empowered to make the situation better. Our experience had not been that great to start we waited a very long time for drinks (water) and to place an order and then waited a considerable amount of time for our chef. I understand that things do not go perfectly and was willing to simply enjoy the evening in spite of the lengthy meal needless to say it was NOT enjoyable by the end.

The food was as good as any other Japanese steakhouse in the Greater Cincinnati area. I thought the service was a little better than at some places. Drinks were refreshed regularly, and the hibachi chef was more entertaining than most.

Sushi was very good but not outstanding. It was rather expensive overall. Service was very friendly but had to wait forever to get the check. With a concentration of other Hibachi and Sushi places locally, I don't see anything unique here for this restaurant that will make it worth a repeat visit.

I went to have sushi with my teenage daughter. I normally love uni, so I ordered three pieces. The first one tasted bad, so I mentioned it to the manager when he stopped by our table. He told me they would put the two back that I hadn't eaten yet and only charge me for the one I had eaten. I'm disgusted that they would recycle food off my table, especially when I told them it was bad.

That is the last time I ever order take out from this place.. I ordered a spicy tuna roll, yellowtail roll and shrimp pad thai. The rolls were great but they got the pad thai all wrong. The "pad thai" didn't have any of the advertised add ins of egg, bean sprouts or tofu. The most disappointing part of this experience is how the employee handled the error. She said they use seasonal ingredients and egg, tofu and bean sprouts were not available. Since when are bean sprouts, eggs and tofu seasonal ingredients? Talk about blowing smoke! I now know theses people don't really care about their customers. If she knew they were out of the key components of this dish, then she should have told me or removed it from the menu. That was the last time I ever give them my money.

One very, very happy tummy last night, and a smile a day later. The thunder roll (seared filet mignon) was wonderful, and generous. I'll be hard pressed to try others in furture visits. Jeff and others have written on the weekday aftrenoon half-price appitizers, and I intend to be back next week for it. One distraction: for expediency I asked to be seated at the bar. It remained empty (save myself) of other guests, and therefore it was mostly unstaffed. My server, when I saw him, was cortial and relaxed, so not fault there -- I might have enjoyed it more, later in the evening, if others were there.

I took my father here on fathers day, and chose this place because yelp had a $10 for $20 voucher. The food was great and our waitress was nice. However, the manager would not accept my voucher because it was fathers day. Eventually they took it because the terms on the voucher said they may not place any additional restrictions on the use of the voucher. She was very rude about it, so I would not recommend this place to anyone. There are plenty of similar restaurants nearby that will not treat you so poorly.

When I visited Geisha, I brought along my picky boyfriend who hates Asian food. Strange choice, I know, but I love Asian Fusion. The setting was modern, I was a little off put by the pink walls of the foyer, but the rest of the restaurant was very sharp looking. Stone, dark wood and red booths. The sushi bar was beautiful. A little empty, but that's to be expected of a brand new restaurant. The menu has sooo many sushi options. However, I ordered off the entree section. I got the mango chicken and my boyfriend got the chicken dish with mashed potatoes (I wish I could remember what it was called). The entrees came with miso soup or salad. The soup was absolutely delicious and was obviously very fresh. The entrees themselves came out. My dish was very colorful, with fresh vegetables and slices of mango mixed in with my sauteed chicken. Yum! My boyfriend's dish was a good portion of chicken strips next to a large pile of mashed potatoes. His only complaint was that the mashed potatoes were just that-- mashed potatoes-- and nothing else, no salt no butter. When mixed with the chicken, they complimented very well and he enjoyed his dish. For dessert we were going to have the tempura ice cream, but the waiter suggested something that was not yet on the menu. It was two balls of peanut butter ice, filled with caramel, with an outer chocolate shell. Side of whipped cream and cherry, with a lovely decoration of chocolate and gastrique. Would definitely recommend!

It's solid hibachi, but not the best I've had. If I were looking for hibachi again, I'd shop around first. However, they will shoot a bunch of sake into your mouth, which works out well for those who like sake.

You know what sucks? When you start off loving a place and then you watch it just rolllll downhill. I kept trying. I really did. 2 carry out orders wrong on 2 separate occasions. Serving pork where vegetarian was requested. Egg, extra, as it seemed, where minus egg was requested. A horrible hibachi experience, missing orders of sushi, no silverware, the list goes on. A 45 minute wait for carry out, when I was told 15 minutes. Why did I put up with this so many times, you ask? Well, it's just like any abusive relationship, you think they are going to change. You think maybe next time it will be different. The food is good, after all. So when I suggested it this last time, my husband cautioned me ' You are just going to get pissed' and I said ' But the food is so good!' So we went, and the experience once again proved we just need to sever the relationship. You shouldn't have to sacrifice service for good food.

The half price sushi is what tempted me to try Geisha. The spring rolls were quite tasty, the sushi was not. I ordered the spicy tuna and it was gross. I typically get the regular tuna and add spicy sauce since I dislike the minced tuna. I also got a Philidelphia roll and it was also not great. I didnt eat the spicy tuna at all, I told the waitress that it tasted bad and she pretty much scolded me saying "if you dont know what you are ordering, do not expect us to refund you" I eat sushi often and spicy tuna is my favorite but every place does it a bit differnet so I did not appreceaite her nagging. So I ended up not eating half the Philly roll and none of the tuna, but I paid for both. That alone makes we give them 1 star and will make it HIGHLY unlikely that I try Geisha again. My friend got a few veggie rolls and they were ok, but for some reason this place wants to put masago on everything. I think IF I EVER ate here again (highly unlikely) I will stick to veggie rolls, I prefer nor to gag on my food. The raw fish was not fresh and was definately fishy which was the main reason the rolls I got were UNEDIBLE! Which is sad, I LOVE sushi.

This is a good spot if you're stuck in West Chester. Excellent staff. Very friendly. The sushi was rock solid. The habachi chef was what you would expect. I thought the habachi food could have been better. It was fine but lacked zip. I'm looking forward to getting back for their 1/2 price sushi happy hour Mon-Fri.

Overall the food and hibachi entertainment were pretty good. They have a nice selection of sushi and being a vegetarian they had a good selection for the non meat eaters. If you are using the yelp deal ($10 for $20) keep in mind you can only use one PER TABLE. We learned this the hard way!

This place was great! The waiter was very helpful and was very helpful in recommending drink combinations. The Sashimi was good, and the portion reasonable. The Sushi rolls were also quite good. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the raw shellfish, it just wasn't as good as I had hoped compared with the taste of the rest of the sushi.

Not impressed. When we arrived, we saw 3 empty tables but the host said there was a 20 min wait. We went to the bar and ordered a captain and coke and was served a half full glass with just a splash of coke. Then we looked at the menu and saw that there was only about 5 dinner options besides sushi. We decided to chug our drinks and go somewhere else!

After a horrible experience at the Iron Che grill my group decided to drive across town and try out Geisha. First thing we noticed is that it was not smokey in the restaurant like it is at Iron Chef Grill. The staff here is friendly and the menu has a wide selection of sushi and hibachi options. To make a long story short, it was a slightly long wait (expected for the hibachi to get set up), service was okay, food was great, and the experience was fun! Our hibachi chef kept our table entertained with Sake and his cooking! A good time and the Yelp deal made it a very reasonable price for dinner. Only think I have to say is don't order the Tempura Ice Cream, not my favorite fried ice cream ever, and I am a fan of this dessert.

The sushi was nothing to write home about in a city where you can get some pretty legit sushi. We had to wait 20 minutes for our drinks on a night they weren't busy and there were multiple problems with our checks. I would recommend going downtown or to Kenwood for sushi, as this was just a bit disappointing.

I got a coupon for Geisha and figured, what the heck. Normally I wouldn't peg West Chester for good Asian food, but I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant used to be a Johnny Carinos, and still looks the same, strangely, this works. Service was friendly and fast, and the manager checked in on us while we were eating. I got the lunch bento box which was a good deal and was delicious. There were plenty of options to choose from. Would highly recommend.

Monday night and it took ten minutes to clear off a table for us. Hostess asked if we'd like to wait at the bar. We did. For the 10 minutes. No bartender. No drink. Hostess returned and said our table was ready, but did we want to wait at the bar and order a drink. ? No, we'll order a drink at the table. Waitress came by after five minutes for a drink order. Took another 15 minutes to get it! Horrible service. Maybe the food is great. No. I ordered the 5-spice chicken which was 2 pounds of fried rice (I prefer white, but was not given a choice.) and two chicken legs which had been cut, pounded, and grilled. The spicy sauce was awful. Weird spice in there that I couldn't identify. Not spicy at all. The pork dumplings were good. :) And I know this is petty, but I hate being called "Honey". (3 or 4 times by the hostess.)

Good atmosphere and the food is okay. However, the value is a little less to be desired. The chefs were great, but the quality doesn't equal the price. I'd recommend a "one and done" especially if you have kids (for the experience). I probably will not go back.

After a horrible experience at Iron Chef on Fields Ertel we headed to Geisha in West Chester. The food and environment were amazing and our cook was a lot of fun as he kept feeding me Saki shots from across the room! On the other hand our server was a little incompetent continuously forgetting drinks and silverware and to top it off we had to eat our tempura ice cream with a fork because spoons were not able to be found...

Geisha has recently re-opened since closing down for renovation and a change in management. The sushi has always been good but before the re-opening the service was just terrible. So far in 3 visits now that they have reopened, the service is much improved! Also, they have added a hibachi grill room! It is awesome!!!! If you didn't like the geisha from last year, I urge you to try it again. You should be much happier with the experience this time around.

My wife and I are avid sushi fans, and we were pleasantly suprised by the quality of food and service at Geisha. The presentation of the food bordered on artistic and the fish tasted very fresh . The specialty rolls were creative and had an enjoyable combination of flavors and textures.. Overall it is an excellent option for sushi lovers in north of the City.
